A video made as we embarked on a challenge to involve 208 primary school children in the design and build of an ‘intelligent’ fountain that could see and hear.

Produced as part of the Design Council’s ‘Schools Renaissance’ campaign, Designmyschool was a revolutionary online consultation system that allowed every member of any school to participate in the redesign process. This video tells the story of its development process, which focused heavily on user-led and co-design principles.

Here, Sister Anne Coffey describes the process by which a community of nuns, Travellers, recent immigrants, ex-offenders, recovering addicts, old and young came together to design and prototype a new approach to social service provision in Cork, Ireland.
